In 2014 six Leeds-based dance organisations came together with the aim of showcasing Leeds as a City of Dance. In 2015 two more organisations joined to help paint the picture of Leeds as the dance capital of the North. In 2016 the eight organisations formally came together as Leeds Dance Partnership. Partnership’s vision for Leeds is to be an international centre of excellence for dance – a dancing city providing leadership in the North for the development of the art form locally, nationally and internationally.

Erasmus + is the European Union’s educational exchange programme for Higher Education students, teachers and institutions. The programme was introduced with the aim of increasing student mobility within Europe. Erasmus forms part of the EU Lifelong Learning Programme (2014-2020). It encourages student and staff mobility for study and promotes cooperation between universities across Europe.FIND OUT MORE
DanceHE is the representative body for academics and practitioners in Higher Education departments teaching and researching Dance in the United Kingdom. DanceHE facilitates collaboration and debate across institutions – drawing together teachers, practitioners and researchers to share information and best practice.

NSCD delivers the MA Contemporary Dance Performance (Postgraduate Apprentice Scheme – PAS) where students are offered work placements with a professional dance companies of between five and nine months. Companies in which students have previously been placed include: 2faced, ACE Dance and Music, Company Chameleon, Phoenix Dance Theatre, Protein Dance, BlackBox Dance Company (Denmark), Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company and Mark Bruce Dance Company.
