NSCD ALUMNI PERFORMING IN TWO PRODUCTIONS AT LONDON’S BLUE ELEPHANT THEATRE

Thursday 10th November 2016, 10:03am NSCD alumni performing in two productions at London’s Blue Elephant Theatre

On Thursday 10th November, Blue Elephant has Josh Hawkins an alumnus of NSCD, performing in (we)SINK & Fish Tank: Double Bill. This is a
performance created by Josh’s dance company Hawk Dance Theatre, an exciting emerging company based in the North West.

(we)SINK uses dance to explore climate change and the psychological processes that make humans disengage from this important issue. Fish Tank is a conversation between live spoken word, text, music and dance, drawing similarities and comparing the life of a goldfish in a bowl to our tendency towards collective denial in the face of change.

The day afterwards,  Gracefool Collective are to perform at Blue Elephant, which consists of NSCD alumni Kate Cox, Sofia Edstrand, Rachel Fullegar and Rebecca Holmberg. They will be performing This Really Is Too Much, billed as “feminist comedy dance at its very best.”

This Really Is Too Much delves into a world of farcical stereotypes and preposterous power struggles. With irreverent physicality, four characters wrestle with restriction, gender and performance of identity, trying desperately to work out which box they fit into.
