All proceeds support a dance bursary
Phoenix Dance Theatre and Northern School of Contemporary Dance pay tribute to Nadine Senior MBE, one of the most influential dance champions of her time, with a special celebration gala.
As the founding principal of the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Nadine Senior influenced generations of dancers, choreographers, teachers and dance leaders locally, nationally and internationally. This celebration evening will be a vibrant showcase of dance that includes a special re-staging of Robert North’s Troy Game (1974) – one of Nadine’s favourites. Described by the New York Times as ‘a funny and sexy romp’, this tongue in cheek tribute to male machismo has been performed by companies throughout the world. The evening will also feature dancers, past and present, of Phoenix Dance Theatre, Northern School of Contemporary Dance and RJC Dance alongside many guest artists, national and international, that worked with Nadine over the past 40 years, in a fitting tribute to a true dance pioneer.
Proceeds from the event will go towards a bursary to support young dancers and their progression into professional dance training.
