The Centre for Advanced Training scheme is for young people aged from 13-17 years old. No formal dance experience is required; we are looking for enthusiastic and motivated young people with exceptional potential and an interest in pursuing dance as a career.

Entry onto the scheme is through audition. To access the audition you should attend an open day which acts as a pre-audition where you will find out more about the scheme and whether it’s a good fit for you. Please click here to book your place on a CAT open day.

Open Days and Auditions

Open Days & Auditions are held at NSCD and involve participation in a contemporary dance technique class, a creative workshop and at audition only a presentation of a pre-prepared one minute solo. Auditions usually take place in May/June for entry onto the scheme in September.

We know auditions can be daunting so have designed the process from to be simple and supportive, including pre audition workshops for those who need advice on solos.

If you have any questions about what the Open Day or Audition please contact the L&P team on 0113 2193005
