We would like to invite you to host one of our workshops for your students.

The Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) at Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD) is offering FREE workshops in schools, colleges, youth and community groups across Yorkshire.

The CAT scheme provides high quality dance training for talented young people who may wish to pursue a career in dance. The scheme, funded by the Department for Education, is a nationally acclaimed programme with nine centres across the UK. The CAT scheme at NSCD works with young people aged 13-17 from a variety of different backgrounds across the Yorkshire region.

Over the last 13 years the CAT scheme has inspired, challenged & nurtured hundreds of young people, enabling them to gain successful places in vocational training institutions and universities across the UK and Europe. Many of whom have forged successful careers in the dance and performing arts sector.

The Workshops

A dance artist from NSCD will deliver a 2 hour workshop based on contemporary dance technique and choreography. Talented students from the workshop will be invited to an Open Day at NSCD with the view to potentially be selected to audition for the scheme. No dance experience required, just enthusiasm for dance, movement or performance.

We run workshops each academic year between October and May.
