Uchenna Dance & NSCD Summer School
Wednesday 2 – Friday 4 August 2017
10am – 4pm each day

A three day summer school delivered by Uchenna Dance and Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD) for young dancers aged 14-18 years.

The summer school will explore Uchenna Dance’s unique style blending club dance styles; Waacking, Vogue and House with traditional styles like African and Contemporary. The course will culminate in an informal performance of work on the final day created by Artistic Director of Uchenna Dance, Vicki Igbokwe.

Young participants aged 14-18 years will be in one open-level group.

The £120 fee to attend the Uchenna Dance summer school must be made when completing the online booking form (see below).

NSCD does not currently provide accommodation for the Summer School. NSCD is located close to Leeds City Centre with a range of accommodation, including Premier Inn and Travelodge.

NSCD & Uchenna Dance Tutor

Vicki Igbokwe
Vicki Igbokwe is a Choreographer, Empowerment Specialist, Creative Director, Transformational Speaker and Founder of Uchenna Dance. Her work focuses on Empowerment, Entertainment and Education through creating dance theatre productions, experiences, mentoring, coaching and teaching in further and higher education. She has a BA (Hons) in Dance Studies from Middlesex University and an MA in Cultural Leadership from City University.
Her career highlights include a five-year sponsorship deal with Nike, Mass Movement Choreographer for the London 2012 Olympics, Sochi 2014 and Glasgow 2014 Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games, Opening & Closing Ceremonies. Vicki is a trustee for One Dance UK, the UK body for dance.
