CDD RANKS AS THE UK’S NO.1 PERFORMING ARTS CONSERVATOIRE

Tuesday 8th September 2015, 9:54pm CDD ranks as the UK’s No.1 performing arts conservatoire

The results of the annual National Student Survey (NSS) have been announced by HEFCE, with the Conservatoire for Dance and Drama ranking above all other UK performing arts conservatoires for overall student satisfaction (91% – up 2% from 2014).

The Conservatoire for Dance and Drama – comprising Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Central School of Ballet, LAMDA, London Contemporary Dance School, National Centre for Circus Arts, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance and RADA – performs consistently well in the NSS. Once again its teaching is rated highly by its students with over 93% overall satisfaction – exceeding the national average by 6%.
The NSS offers the Conservatoire an annual opportunity to review the student experience and, in conjunction with other feedback, to ensure that it continues to deliver world-leading vocational training in the performing arts.

"“NSCD has been a place where I’ve grown and been challenged incredibly, not only as a dancer but as a person too. I’ve had three years of constant support from some of the most inspiring teachers, as well as dancing alongside humble and driven students. The school prepares and supports each student, producing well rounded artists, offering top class teaching and musicians, very high standards, a close family atmosphere and a springboard for opportunities.”" Heather Walrond, BPA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance graduate, NSCD
"“We are delighted that the excellence of the schools in the Conservatoire has been recognised by our students. All the schools across the Conservatoire work closely with our students to ensure that they are getting the best preparation for fast changing professions. In addition, our unparalleled links with those professions, in which many of our graduates are world leaders, enables us to ensure that the training we offer is the best possible foundation for a professional career in theatre, film, dance and circus arts, in the UK and internationally.”" Edward Kemp, Principal of the Conservatoire for Dance and Drama and Director of RADA
