Role and responsibilities:
Tom coordinates all Learning & Participation activity including weekly classes, summer schools, projects and performances. He is a tutor on the Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) and is the NSCD Youth Dance Company leader.
Tom Bowes is a contemporary dance artist, choreographer and teacher. His work spans from coordinating and delivering education and outreach projects, producing and choreographing dance works, and directing youth dance companies.
Based in Manchester, Tom mainly works in Leeds and Blackpool, but his work takes him all around the North West and Yorkshire.
Tom originally trained at the University of Roehampton (BA Hons Dance Studies) and Trinity Laban (MA Dance Performance) whilst performing in Transitions Dance Company.
Currently Tom works at Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD) as their Learning & Participation Coordinator, Tutor on the Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) and is the NSCD Youth Dance Company Leader. He is Director of Fylde Coast Youth Dance Company and, under the title of Tom Bowes Dance, creates contemporary dance performance and educational programmes. Tom is involved in a number of independent projects that involve performing, teaching, organising and making contemporary dance.
