NATIONAL STUDENT SURVEY (NSS) SUCCESS FOR NSCD AND OTHER CONSERVATOIRE DANCE & DRAMA PARTNERS

Saturday 8th October 2016, 9:22am National Student Survey (NSS) success for NSCD and other Conservatoire Dance & Drama partners

The results of the National Student Survey (NSS) have been announced by HEFCE, with the Conservatoire for Dance and Drama (which are the eight partners) ranking joint highest amongst UK performing arts conservatoires for overall student satisfaction (90%).

The Conservatoire – comprising Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Central School of Ballet, LAMDA, London Contemporary Dance School, National Centre for Circus Arts, Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance and RADA – was recently judged world-leading by an independent peer review panel commissioned by HEFCE.

The Conservatoire performs consistently well overall in the National Student Survey. Once again, the quality of teaching is rated highly by its students at 92% satisfied – 5% above the sector average. The Conservatoire partners remain committed to maintaining excellent standards of teaching, ensuring students receive the best possible preparation for a professional career in dance, drama and circus arts.

The support given by the NSCD school and staff is fantastic. Having required the help myself and going through all the support the school has to offer, they understand, listen and respect you. The teaching staff have been through the rigorous training and know how tough it can be.

Joseph Delaney BPA (Hons) Contemporary Dance, 3rd year NSCD graduate starting an apprenticeship with Motionhouse Dance Company.

CDD is delighted once again to be ranked amongst the leading conservatoires for student satisfaction, in the same year that the Conservatoire schools have been recognised as world-leading by an international panel of experts. Students and their learning are the primary focus for all of us at the Conservatoire and although the NSS is limited in scope, it is a valuable guide to our performance, alongside the continuing success of our graduates in the industry.

Edward Kemp, Principal of the Conservatoire and Director of RADA
