NSCD ALUMNA SUCCESSFUL WITH RDC YOUTH’S LATEST PROJECT

Monday 11th January 2016, 3:38pm NSCD alumna successful with RDC Youth’s latest project

2014 graduate Shelley Eve Haden has been selected to choreograph a new bespoke piece for RDC Youth. The commission is a product of #ENHANCE, an exciting new project developed by RDC Youth with support from Arts Council England which aims to give their dancers an insight into the running of a professional dance company.

The innovative idea meant the dancers could shortlist, audition and interview for a choreographer to create a new piece of dance, to be showcased later this year. Choreographers Carlos Cortes, Jane Coulston, Sarah Rodgers and Shelley Eve Haden were all shortlisted, with each leading a master class for the dancers to evaluate and score. We are delighted to announce that Shelley, graduate of NSCD, has been chosen to choreograph the new commission.

Shelley was one of the first students in the history of NSCD to achieve 100% in her final year solo assessment, and having recently toured with Rosie Kay Dance Company as a female soloist in “5 SOLDIERS”- a five star production – we’re extremely proud of Shelley’s success to date.

Shelley on being chosen for #ENHANCE:

“I feel very honoured to have been selected to choreograph the new commission for RDC Youth and I am extremely excited to continue with the company on our journey.”
