BPA (Hons) Contemporary Dance - Northern School of Contemporary Dance
Dagmar is a freelance dance artist based in Leeds. She has taught extensively in children’s centres, primary and secondary schools, working with organisations such as Northern Ballet, RJC Dance and Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD). Freelance work has also taken Dagmar across the country, working as a cover teaching assistant for the Centre for Advanced Training in Birmingham, for the Contemporary and South Asian strands.
Prior to training at NSCD, Dagmar was part of a pilot project run by DanceXchange, called ‘Making Choreographers’. Some of the highlights from the project include co-choreographing curtain raisers on 2Faced Dance Company for their ‘Still Breathing’ tour to the Patrick Centre in Birmingham, and on a group of college students for Matthew Bourne’s ‘Swan Lake’ at the Birmingham Hippodrome.
As a performer, Dagmar has worked with Annika Kompart on an Arts Council funded seven-hour durational performance project, with TurveyWorld Dance in gallery settings, and with Balbir Singh Dance Company.
In addition to teaching on the Saturday School, Dagmar is currently undertaking a part-time Masters degree in Dance Science at the University of Wolverhampton.
