JOSé TOMáS

Dancer

Originally from Santiago, José started his dance training at the University of Chile. In this period he worked with the national choreographers José Vidal, Macarena Campbell and Rodrigo Chaverini. He moved to London in 2015, continuing his training at London Contemporary Dance School where he was awarded with the Peggy Hawkins Scholarship for exceptional potential as a dance artist, graduating in July 2018 with a First Class Degree. During this time José  performed works by Batsheva Dance Company and Hofesh Shechter and worked with artists such as Rick Nodine, James Cousins, Grace Nicol and Theo Clinkard. He has also performed in Resolution, the V&A and the Tate Modern.

José is also interested in developing his artistic voice. He was invited to performs his work at The Place Theatre, showing two solos: 'Otoño' and 'Shot me down' in 2017. José has also participated in different artistic residencies, as a performer in Barcelona (Graner and NuArt), Tàrrega (FiraTàrrega) and as choreographer in Vienna (Raw Matters).
