MAYA CARROLL

Dancer

Growing up in East Sussex, Maya began dancing with HED:Strong Youth Dance Company and later Shift Youth Dance Company at The Place. At 18 she then went on to study at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, graduating with a First Class BPA (Hons) degree in 2018. As a result of her training experiences, Maya has worked with choreographers such as Ben Duke, Neil Fleming-Brown (Studio Wayne McGregor), Tony Adigun, Suzie Davies, Mattias Ekholm, Gavin Coward, Jamaal Burkmar and Francesco Scavetta. She has also performed in Resolutions, the ‘Cohen at 90’ celebration at The Place and at the West Yorkshire Playhouse as part of Nadine Senior’s Gala.

As well as her love for performing, Maya has developed an interest in choreography and has created work in collaboration with Henry Morris throughout her training. They will continue to explore their own artistic endeavours during their time with VERVE!
