Role and responsibilities:

Rose is responsible for managing and coordinating the Centre for Advanced Training (CAT). Her main responsibilities include curriculum planning and development, recruitment, booking artists and student pastoral support. Rose delivers contemporary technique and complimentary subjects for current CAT students as well as delivering the outreach and recruitment work across Yorkshire.

Rose delivers contemporary technique on the Learning & Participation provision for adult improvers/advanced.

Rose is a deputy safeguarding officer for the school.

 

Career history

Rose began dancing at a young age and at 16 attended her local college in Wakefield to study performing arts, from here she went on to train for her BPA Hons at NSCD.

After graduating Rose worked as a freelance artist in a number of independent projects involving creative, performance and teaching work across Yorkshire. In 2010 Rose undertook her teacher training, gaining a PGCE specialising in dance. During this time she worked as Dance Lecturer at Wakefield College delivering to HND Dance, HND Theatre and Btec Dance students, as well as leading dance for students on the Foundation Learning provision.

Rose has vast experience of delivering dance in community outreach and education settings, working with children, young people and adults in both mainstream and inclusive environments. She has taught for Phoenix Dance Theatre’s Access & Education programme, First Floor, CoActive and Northern Ballet as their dance education officer.

Rose returned to NSCD in 2011 to deliver the L&P adult improvers/advanced contemporary technique class and in 2014 was appointed as the Centre for Advanced Training Programme Leader. Rose is a 200hr Certified Yoga Teacher
