Sam is a dance and movement practitioner and much of her work involves creating opportunities for people from all walks of life to experience dance and get moving.
Alongside working for Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Sam works for a variety of different dance organisations, including Head of Dance for Flamingo Chicks, an inclusive dance school, which provides opportunities for children with and without disabilities and illnesses to enjoy ballet alongside their friends, and as an Associate Artist for English National Ballet, leading creative repertoire workshops in schools and theatres across the UK.
Sam also has her own company, Curel, a not-for-profit organisation which provides movement-related wellbeing services for communities, health services, charities and local businesses.
Sam trained at Bretton Hall (University of Leeds) and the Scottish School of Contemporary Dance before completing her M.A. in Contemporary Dance at London Contemporary Dance School in 2013. She is also a qualified Complementary Therapist and provides massage, aromatherapy and reflexology to the local community from her base near Halifax.
