Can I apply for direct 2nd year entry (level 5) on the BA (Hons) Dance (Contemporary)?
NSCD does occasionally offer direct entry into the 2nd year/level 5 if applicants have already completed a 1st year/level 4 of an equivalent course at another institution. Offers would, however, be dependent on places being available in the 2nd year/level 5 .
Applications should be made through the standard application form* followed by attendance at an audition or, for international applicants, submission of a video link audition. Applicants who are then selected for 2nd year/level 5 entry would then be required to provide details of previous/current course specification in order to show they have met the same learning outcomes of the NSCD 1st year/level 4 curriculum.
See the University of Kent website for NSCD BA (Hons) Dance (Contemporary) course specification.
*When completing your application please ensure that you select the level of study that you will have completed by the end of the current year i.e. if you are currently in the 1st year of an undergraduate degree course select level 4.
The auditions will be held in China, Denmark, Italy, Hong Kong, Norway, Singapore and Switzerland (from November 2017- February 2018) in Leeds (December 2017-March 2018) or by video link (remote audition) for applicants from other countries. Full details are available in the pdf document below:

Please note that at the audition for BA (Hons) Dance (Contemporary) the audition panel will automatically consider you for the Access to Higher Education Diploma: Contemporary Dance if they feel that this would be a better course for you at this stage. You do not need to make another application or attend another audition.
You will need to have the following information ready to enter into the on-line application form:
You are not required to provide copies of certificates, photographs or references.
The audition and interview fee waiver scheme
NSCD is an affiliate of The Conservatoire for Dance and Drama who offer a number of audition fee waivers to BA applicants from UK with low-income backgrounds who may not otherwise be able to make an application. Please note that places are limited and offered on a first come basis. If you believe you meet the criteria and decide to apply for an audition fee waiver please wait until you receive notification of the outcome before you make your application to NSCD. If you are successful you will then be able to select one of the free places at our auditions.

We advise that you have all of your information (listed above) ready before you start,
