NSCD’s Access course is recognised nationally for preparing dance artists to undertake further in-depth professional training.
This course is specifically designed for the education and training of professional contemporary dance artists, performers, choreographers and artist facilitators.
This one-year, full-time programme offers dancers a safe and inspiring space to grow as an artist, rigorously challenge their physical skill and build an understanding of the professional working environment.
By booking an overseas audition you will automatically be invited to attend a 1 day workshop which will take place the day before the audition and will be free of charge.
The workshop will include tasks and activities which will be encountered in the audition.
To book a workshop please email email@example.com
Applicants from both overseas and the UK are required to complete a simple online application form, select their chosen audition (venue, type and date), and pay the audition fee by PayPal. Applicants can then attend their audition or submit a remote video audition online. Full details for each course, including what to prepare are available on our APPLY pagesApply now
Emilie graduated from Northern School of Contemporary Dance in 2016.
Originally from Norway, she started out participating in dance competitions before moving on to studying music, dance and theatre. She was part of the youth company På Tå Hev led by the Norwegian Opera and Sarah Da Fonseca with guest artists and companies such as Random Dance Company and Christopher Kettner from 2011- 2012, before going on to study for a year at ‘Spin Off Forstudium i Dans’ in Oslo.
After graduating from NSCD, Emilie worked with NSCD alumnus Jamaal Burkmar Dance, winner of the inaugural 2015/16 New Adventures Choreography Award (NACA), as part of his piece ‘16 bars’. In 2017, Emilie joined Joss Arnott Dance, an internationally touring, classical contemporary dance company based at the Lawrence Batley Theatre, Huddersfield in West Yorkshire.
NSCD is one of eight specialist schools delivering world-leading education and vocational training in the performing arts.
Leeds Dance Partnership's vision for Leeds is to be an international centre of excellence for dance – a dancing city providing leadership in the North.
NSCD is proud of the diversity of the students it attracts and over recent years 30% of our total students have joined us from outside the UK.
