In 2018 VERVE presents an exhilarating programme of bold new work created by internationally-acclaimed and multi award-winning choreographers Hannes Langolf (Germany) , Sita Ostheimer (Germany) and VERVE Artistic Director Matthew Robinson (UK), alongside a reworking of the critically acclaimed ‘Riders’ by Lenka Vagnerova (Czech Republic).
Each year VERVE commissions choreographers from all over the world to create a distinct, engaging, and thought provoking programme of work. The company works with established and emerging choreographers, offering dancers and audiences an appreciation of the breadth of what is happening in dance. Choreographers who have worked with the company include, Akram Khan, Gemma Nixon and Jonathan Goddard, Ben Wright, James Wilton, Ben Duke, Kerry Nicholls, Anton Lachky, James Cousins, Luca Silvestrini, and Lea Anderson.Meet the company
The company tours extensively across the UK and internationally, in recent years performing in Austria, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland. VERVE offers emerging dance artists the opportunity to challenge and develop their skills across a varied repertoire of work, guided by the Artistic Director, alongside an exciting range of visiting artists. The programme provides dancers a safe and inspiring space to take creative risk with their practice, to grow their individual artistry, rigorously challenge their physical skill, develop their identity as performers, and build an understanding of the professional working environment to support them in their future careers.
