DAISY DANCER

Dancer

‘I dance because it frees me. I am ridden of any sort of burden and complex inner thoughts, and for a brief moment I can lose myself in the totality of my movement. My mind and body become completely in sync and the wholeness I feel within myself as well as the deep and unspoken connection to those around me is a feeling unlike many others.’

Born in the North East of England, Daisy (she/her) trained in various styles of dance before finding contemporary at Dance City, Centre for Advanced Training. Later she joined the National Youth Dance Company, touring England with works created by Sharon Eyal and Botis Seva.

Daisy graduated from London Contemporary Dance School with a first class honours degree, where her training consisted of Flying Low, Gaga and contact improvisation. During her training, Daisy performed works by Sam Coren, Renaud Wiser and Liam Francis, alongside repertoire from Batsheva Dance Company. She was also in the touring show ‘The Shadow’ with Company Chameleon and performed as part of the immersive show ‘We Are As Gods’ at Battersea Arts Centre with James Cousins Company.
