HOLLY YU

Dancer

"I dance to assert myself, to deliver what's inside of me to the outside. It is a tool to say something, it conveys my perspective out to the world."

Born and raised in Busan, South Korea, Holly started dancing at 15 years old at Busan High School of Arts. This was where she began her career in contemporary dance alongside learning traditional Korean dance. In 2018 she enrolled in the MASA programme at the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company in Israel before she moved to England to study at NSCD. In 2020, Holly performed for JAYU Dance Company in South Korea during the pandemic. She graduated NSCD with a first class honours degree in 2021. During her training Holly has enjoyed working with choreographers such as Rami Be'er, Rita Marcalo, Joseph Mercier, Anton Lachky, and Vicki Igbokwe.
