JORDEN BROOKS

Dancer

‘I dance because it’s natural to my being. It allows me to be honest, breathe and love. I still haven’t found a feeling like it.’

Born in Beverley, East Yorkshire, Jorden ventured into contemporary dance aged 12 joining East Riding County Company. At the age of 18, Jorden joined the CAT scheme at Northern School of Contemporary Dance, alongside touring England with National Youth Dance Company with work created by Sharon Eyal. She continued her professional training at NSCD, graduating with a first-class honours degree in 2022.

During her training, Jorden has worked with artists including Douglas Thorpe, Akeim Toussiant Buck, Eleanor Sikorski, Akram Khan and Alesandra Seutin. Since graduating Jorden has organised and run Leeds based inclusive dance and music events which she wishes to further develop and expand in the near future.
