We ask that :

  • For Saturday School and Youth Classes we ask that parents/guardians drop off and pick up participants in car park – parents/carers should not enter building – a member of staff will meet you at the entrance of the building to escort participants inside
  • Parents/ guardians and participants do not congregate at entrances/ exits
  • Participants wear a face covering in communal areas
  • Participants use hand sanitiser where provided
  • Participants follow our one-way system
  • Parents/ guardians & participants observe the 2-metre social distancing rule wherever possible

We will continue to keep all our participants up to date with the latest information directly by email. If you are not currently a participant and would like to receive updates you can join our mailing list here and select ‘Take Part’.

FAQs

How do I drop off and pick up my young person?

At this time we are requesting that parents/ guardians drop off their young people in the car park, and that parents/ guardians/ relatives do not enter the NSCD building.

A member of L&P staff will be on hand to meet you outside the NSCD building and will escort participants in to the building socially-distanced.

If a number of people arrive at the same time we ask that you queue 2 metres apart to the left of the building.

What should I expect upon arrival?

Upon arrival at NSCD, temperatures of all participants and staff will be taken.

We will ask you to use the hand sanitiser from the dispensers provided or you may use your own.

Certain on-site facilities, including the café and changing rooms, will not be available. So please come prepared wearing your dance clothing under your outdoor clothing and with a filled water bottle.

Toilet facilities will, of course, be available, with hygiene protocols in place.

Reporting Symptoms & Test Results

Please do not attend class if you, or anyone in your household is displaying symptoms of Covid-19, have received a positive test or have been instructed to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace. You should contact participation@nscd.ac.uk if you are unable to attend.

You must self-isolate and book a test as soon as possible if you have any symptom of COVID-19 or have been asked to do so by NHS Track and Trace.

A local walk-in test centre is based in the Mandela Centre in Chapeltown, across the road from NSCD.

Read further guidance and book a test here.

When should I self-isolate?

You need to self-isolate in the following circumstances:

  • You have symptoms and are waiting for a test result
  • You live with someone who has symptoms
  • You have tested positive for coronavirus
  • You have been in direct contact with someone who has tested positive

If someone shows coronavirus (Covid-19) symptoms, that person and anyone living with the person should stay at home and not leave the house for at least 14 days.

If you feel generally unwell you should not come into class.

Further guidance can be found on the NHS website

I am a close contact of someone who has tested positive, but I don’t show any symptoms and I have had two negative test results – what does this mean for me?

Anyone who is a close contact of someone who tests positive is required to follow current guidance on self-isolating.

Safeguarding

In addition to the tutor leading the class we have at least one other member of our team present overseeing sessions in the building. They will monitor the class and moderate for safety, behaviour and attendance.

We take all measures to ensure our facilities are safe but rely on appropriate support from parents/carers.
