AKARI TAKAHASHI

Dancer

Akari began training in dance in Saitama, Japan, at Epris Ballet Studio. She began her contemporary dance training under the direction of Kimiho Hulbert and Naoya Homan at the age of twelve. The freedom within contemporary dance inspired her choreography, including her piece “4’33’’, which has been performed at Roppongi Art Night 2018, TED conference and Yokohama Dance Collection. The piece was made into a film in collaboration with director Hiro Oda and was awarded by New Renaissance Film Festival.

Alongside her studies at Trinity Laban, Akari worked as a dancer for Ahn Eun Me Company's world tour of 'Dragons'. In 2022, Akari graduated with a First-Class Honours degree.

Dance is a tool to experience others which leads us through the journey of discovering ourselves.”
