At the Riley Theatre
Finishing Touches, a new play by award-winning Yorkshire playwright Brian Daniels, is a contemporary look at the enduring impact of childhood sexual abuse on four survivors at various stages of adult life.
Relations between mother and daughter Carol and Dawn, are at breaking point and family friend Neil is struggling to manage. But a chance encounter between Neil and policeman Roy, a friend he hasn’t seen since boarding school, prises the lid open off another problematic can of worms. As their four lives become increasingly intertwined, follow each character as they unearth the courage to look back, relive and step forward in this dynamic, modern production.
Following the performance join an expert-led panel discussion DCI Sharon North of West Yorkshire Police.
