Two creations from emergent choreographers for the dynamic youth company Area Jeune Ballet from Switzerland
Into Outside by Edouard Hue
With Into Outside, Edouard Hue explores the essential and fragile relationship between the individual and the group.
How can we exist fully within a community?
How can we preserve our uniqueness while building a common future?
The piece questions the mechanisms of collective life, where personalities reveal themselves, rub against each other, sometimes clash, but above all seek to coexist and move forward together. Each performer asserts their own identity, while being driven by the need to be part of a larger whole. The group then becomes a space of transformation, tension, but also support.
Into Outside tests the limits of this reciprocal relationship: the importance of society for the individual, and that of the individual for society. Through the dynamics of rapprochement, rejection, domination and affiliation, the play reveals how community life influences behaviour, shapes roles and alters balances.
Between the need to belong and the desire for emancipation, Into Outside questions each person's ability to find their place without crushing others, to assert their voice without breaking the cohesion of the group. A choreographic journey in which bodies seek a common language, in a constant movement between the inside and the outside.
We will never give up on love by Erion Kruja
Love is a powerful force that can overcome the greatest obstacles. In a world filled with turmoil and chaos, it is more important than ever to hold on to love. This creation is a journey through the different extremes of love, from simple, gentle and caring love to difficult love. I believe that love is worth fighting for in this world. The dancers in this piece represent a new generation of ‘love warriors’ who are determined to fight for a better future. Without love, all we have left is destruction and despair. Let us fight for love.
