Meet the Artist is an initiative which showcases upcoming graduates and alumni of the Palucca University of Dance Dresden. Featuring work by award winning contemporary choreographer Ihsan Rustem, and one of the most influential figures of classical ballet, Marius Petipa.
For the first time, students from Dresden will attend Northern School of Contemporary Dance, to train and rehearse together. This will culminate in Meet the Artist, an exciting 60-minute performance where students, selected alumni and apprentices will share their diverse repertoire — from classical variations to contemporary choreographies. The artists will present their wide range of skills and virtuosities whilst connecting with the public through open discussions and an improvisation led by the audience.
The Palucca University of Dance is the only university in Germany offering a 9-year dance education programme with integrated secondary schooling. The curriculum includes Ballet, Contemporary Dance and Improvisation. The Palucca University of Dance Dresden is a vibrant, creative and exciting centre for dance education.
