Get to know Latif Arafan Wa-hab Diedhiou, VERVE RESIDENCIES 25/26 artist
Joining us here at NSCD from Senegal for a week of research, practice sharing and bespoke support from Alesandra Seutin and Matteo Marfoglia. These events offer a taste of his practice and artistic world.
In this practical dance workshop led by Latif Arafan Wa-hab Diedhiou and Alesandra Seutin, Acogny Technique meets Senegalese Ancestral Movement.
Two generations of dance artists and teachers come together to transport you into a rich world of movement, blending the Acogny Technique (West African modern dance) with Senegalese Ancestral Movement Language. The experience will be accompanied with live music from two Leeds-based percussionists, creating a powerful dialogue between body, rhythm, innovation and tradition.
