Born in Colorado and raised in Costa Rica, Ava grew up immersed in natural art and cultural diversity. She completed her undergrad at the Institute of the Arts Barcelona, where she immersed herself in work with choreographers such as Sita Ostheimer, Yue Yin, Mathew William Robinson, VIM VIGOR, Glenda Gheller, and Paloma Muñoz. Her practice spans a range of contemporary techniques, blending versatility with dynamic, expressive movement. Choreographically, she is inspired by her home and personal passions to tell stories through movement, most recently in collaboration with her twin sister. Currently completing her MA in Contemporary Dance Performance (VERVE) at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, she continues to seek out projects that challenge and expand her practice.
