Born and raised in The Hague, The Netherlands, Chandenie began her training in Indian dance at a young age. Being the daughter of immigrated Surinamese parents, the importance of dance was already embedded in her through her Indian heritage.
After completing the foundation course at the Amsterdam University of the Arts, she continued her studies at Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts. By continuing to search for new ways of approaching movement, she has been able to develop a movement language in which she uses traditions from the East and from the West.
Chandenie has performed works by artists such as Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Blenard Azizaj and Ryan Djojokarso.
