HANA KATO

Dancer

"I dance because it allows me to share my true authentic self. Dance offers me freedom. Dance gives me power. The thrills and emotions which dance presents, is unforgettable."

Hana was born and raised in Perth, Western Australia. She began dancing at the age of 4 and trained in multiple genres. As a teen, she began training full-time in classical ballet and contemporary. Soon after, Hana moved to London to commence her training at The Place, graduating with a First Class Honours degree in 2021.

During her studies in London, she performed an excerpt of Ohad Naharins’ Mamootot, created an installation for Leonardo DaVincis’ 500th Centenary Anniversary exhibition held at the Queens Gallery in Buckingham Palace and worked with Yukiko Masui in her last year online. Hana also participated in many workshops and classes externally, performed for London Fashion Week and was selected as a finalist for the BBC Young Dancer Contemporary Category in 2019.
