HOLLY BRENNAN

Dancer

"I dance because when I do, it shifts what I am in that moment; proffering fluidity in what I can be, un-defining what I must be and giving me agency to connect to my most playful, primal and free self. I caught the taste of it and now I can never not move…dancing is very tasty indeed."

Born in the North West of England, Holly trained in dance throughout her adolescence at The Lowry, Centre for Advanced Training and later, she joined the National Youth Dance Company, touring England with works created by Sharon Eyal and Damien Jalet. Holly graduated London Contemporary Dance School with a first class honors degree, where the core of her training comprised of Flying Low, release, Gaga and contact improvisation.

As an outcome of her training, Holly has become deeply engaged in curating her own work and is captivated by melding intermediality and design into her compositions and the synergy that this brings.

So far Holly’s favourite experiences of understanding and performing works have been by Hofesh Shechter Company, Batsheva Dance Company, Phoenix Dance Theatre, Holly Blakey, Sung Im Her and Extended Play Dance.
