Born in York, Fern started dancing at the age of 4 with various styles of dance, until she found contemporary at the age of 14. From there, Fern gained a place on the CAT scheme at NSCD, as well as a being a member of National Youth Dance Company where she worked with renowned choreographers Jasmin Vardimon and Akram Khan performing works (in)between and Vertical Road, which they toured nationally. Since then she has continued her studies at NSCD, completing the degree course with a First Class BA (Hons), which provided opportunities to work with an array of professional dance artists such as Hannes Langolf, Rod Dixon, and Kerry Nicholls. Fern is thrilled to be working with the company this coming year and the experience and possibilities it's going to provide her as a dance artist. She is an eager and curious dance maker and mover who can't wait to push her physicality and experience life as a professional dancer.
