NSCD is an international centre of excellence offering specialist, conservatoire-level contemporary dance training.

At our home in Leeds, City of Dance, we provide an inspirational learning environment for aspiring contemporary dance artists to train in a place that values them as individuals. We offer studies at Foundation, Undergraduate and Postgraduate level as a School of the Conservatoire for Dance and Drama. We also provide classes and workshops to all ages and abilities through our Learning & Participation activities.

We are home to Riley Theatre, a performance venue for professional touring companies and emerging dance artists with our 2015 programme funded by Arts Council England. Riley Theatre provides performance opportunities throughout the year for NSCD students across the whole provision. VERVE, NSCD’s theatrical and dynamic postgraduate performance company, open their UK and European tour on the Riley stage in the Spring. Sign up for NSCD news here.
