Massimo is originally from Bologna, Italy. He began his dance training when he was 16 years old. Under the direction of Silvia and Emilia Martinci, Massimo undertook a one year preparation course at the dance school Studio del Movimento. Following this year, Massimo started his studies and professional training at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. During his undergraduate studies Massimo performed works by Merce Cunningham restaged by Daniel Squire, and worked with choreographers such as Heidi Rustgaard and Rahel Vonmoos. In 2016, as part of the Erasmus programme, he completed a period of training at the Conservatoire National supérieur de Musique et Danse of Paris where he had the chance to work with the choreographer Rachid Ouramdane, performing in Tenir le temps. In 2018 Massimo graduated at Trinity Laban with a First Class Honours Degree, along with a degree in Modern Literature at the University of Bologna.
