Qiugu Chen is a Chinese contemporary dancer and performer. She began her training in Chinese dance at the age of seven, and went on to perform and teach dance across different regions of China. At 18, she began her contemporary dance training and later studied Dance Studies at Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University, graduating as an Outstanding Graduate Representative. Alongside contemporary dance, she has trained in street dance and Latin dance, incorporating different movement qualities into her physical language. She has also created and performed her own work, participating in contemporary dance festivals and arts weeks in China. Her practice explores physical awareness, everyday behaviour, repetition and self-observation.
