ELIZABETH JEANNE ORTEGA

she/her

"I dance because it lets me find myself. To acknowledge and connect to my innermost impulses and emotions that are at times sub-consciously suppressed. The brief moments of clarity and unspoken connections to those in space are feelings unparalleled to any other."

Elizabeth trained in ballet and contemporary dance at School of the Arts, Singapore. She then joined Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance where she worked with artists such as Yeji Kim (Hofesh Shechter Dance Company), Akram Khan Dance Company, Daniel Davidson, Seeta Patel and Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures.

Aside from performing, Elizabeth also enjoys creating work and has choreographed a number of pieces for Rambert School’s Student Platform performances, which were selected to perform at the Lilian Baylis Studio at Sadler's Wells Theatre, London Youth Games 2023 and The Old Fire Station, Oxford.

Elizabeth graduated from Rambert School with a First Class BA (Hons) in 2023.
