MAëLLE LE PALLEC

she/her

"Moving is something that my body does automatically, to explore and to understand everything I experience, feel and live. I’m attached to it since I was little, probably because of its complexity and its freedom, reflecting what life is to me."

Maëlle was born in Lyon, France, where she trained in gymnastic and jazz dance. At 15, she started her pre-professional training at Conservatoire du Grand Avignon where she gained a DEC (Diplôme d’Études Chorégraphiques) in Contemporary and Jazz Dance.

After three years studying on the BA course at The Place, Maëlle graduated with a First Class Honours degree and received the Cohan Scholarship Award. During her studies, she choreographed her own work in collaboration with designer Csenge Reka Horvath and performed in works by Jason Mabana, Igor X Moreno, FUBUNATION and Alethia Antonia.

Since 2015, she has been a member of a solidarity association called “Toubab Exchanges” which helps nursery, primary and high schools in Toubab Dialaw, Senegal, as well as supporting the École des Sables led by dance artist Germaine Acogny.
