Nahyeon was born in South Korea. She started dancing at 16 years old at Jeonju Fine Art High School where she studied contemporary dance alongside Korean dance. She graduated from Sejong University in Korea, where she got a bachelor's degree. During her studies, she won the Grand Prize at the Korean International Contemporary Dance Competition.
In 2020, she continued her training in London at Trinity Laban on the Postgraduate Diploma in Dance course. Following that, she worked with Dart Dance Company in Berlin as a Project Member in 2021, working with choreographers Anton Lachky and Blenard Azizaj.
