Course Representatives

Each year group/course at NSCD has a Student Representative. They are here to listen to you – whether it’s things you like, or things that could be improved, their  job is to take your feedback to discussions with the rest of the Student’s Union as well as NSCD staff members at the Student Voice Forums. These meetings happen 4 times a year, and are an opportunity for student feedback to be discussed and actioned by staff, to continue to improve the student experience at NSCD. We also have an Eco Rep and a Social Media Rep, who also bring feedback relating to their roles.

To find out more about role of Student Reps or how the Student Voice Forum works, follow the link below to go to the Student Voice page on Moodle. Copies of the minutes and actions are held here so you can see some of the work that Student Voice Forum have been doing.

Diversity Representatives

Alongside our Course Representatives, NSCD has 5 Diversity Representatives covering the following areas: Access and Participation; People of the Global Majority; LGBTQIA+; Overseas; and Neurodiversity and Disability.

They too gather student feedback relating to their specific areas, but also attend Committees, like Equity, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, to help represent the student body when decisions are being made. They also attend Diversity Working Group, a sub-committee run by NSCD’s Access and Admissions Manager, to work on specific EEDI actions and priorities. Our Diversity Reps do amazing work to improve the student experience and be a voice and representative for those who identify in a minority group.

Being a Student Representative

Each year new Reps are recruited in the Summer and Autumn terms. If you have ideas and want to make a difference to the student experience here at NSCD, why not apply to become a Rep?!

All information about the Student Union and becoming a Rep is held on the Student Union Moodle page.
