Applicants are required to create an account via our online application portal ‘HEIapply’ and complete an application. You will need to provide:

3. A Personal Statement (750 – 1000 words) that addresses the following:– Teaching Experience
   Summarise your background in dance teaching and other relevant teaching experience in other movement forms (yoga, Pilates etc). Include details about your current professional teaching practice, your dance training and any other relevant experience (CPD, short courses completed).– Motivation and Ambitions
   Explain why you are interested in this course. What motivates you to apply, and what are your teaching, and professional ambitions beyond the course?– Research Interests
   Describe your research interests. What methods, approaches, or disciplines drive your current pedagogy and professional practice? Which areas of your teaching practice do you wish to develop further, and what specific areas of research are you interested in exploring to achieve this?

Important: We are aware that many applicants will use A.I. Tools to write their personal statements.  We highly value, hearing from you in own voice, so if you do use any A.I. Tools, please ensure that it is still specific to you and that your creative voice and personality is still present in the statement. 

The application fee is a one-off payment of £21 and covers the cost of processing applications. 

Application fee waivers are available to applicants from low-income households (under £25,000 annual household income).

If you are applying for more than one course you only pay the application fee once. 

We aim to review applications within 3 weeks of receiving them during term time. Applicants are invited to attend an interview online. 

The MA Professional Dance Pedagogy programme is looking for applicants with an established teaching practice who are seeking the opportunity to evaluate and develop their practice, while engaging with other teachers and exploring new ideas from a range of backgrounds and cultures.

Applicants who are successful at the interview will be made an offer and have 2 weeks in which to accept. We will inform you if you have not been successful. 

There is a procedure in place for candidates to ask for feedback in relation to the interview process and a complaints policy surrounding admissions once the application and offer process is complete. This information is available on here.

Please note: Due to high applicant numbers, we are unable to provide detailed feedback, but we do provide a standard feedback format which is designed to give applicants an indication of how the panel scored their application.
