Founded in 2016, Leeds Dance Partnership supports and celebrates amazing dance in Leeds and beyond. The Partnership aims to increase Leeds’ profile and recognition locally, nationally and internationally for its vibrant and diverse dance scene.

CYP (Children and Young People’s) Dance Network North

The CYP Dance Network North (Children and Young People’s) aims to create more diverse and high quality dance opportunities for children and young people in the North. Funded by Arts Council England and supported by the Strategic Action Group of which NSCD chairs the Yorkshire region.

DanceHE

DanceHE is the representative body for academics and practitioners in Higher Education departments teaching and researching Dance in the United Kingdom. DanceHE facilitates collaboration and debate across institutions – drawing together teachers, practitioners and researchers to share information and best practice.

Darren Carr, Director of Studies at NSCD, sits on the Executive Board of DanceHE as Treasurer.

Placement companies

NSCD delivers the MA Contemporary Dance Performance (Professional Placement Scheme – PPS) where students are offered work placements with a professional dance company, lasting between five and nine months. Companies in which students have previously been placed include: ACE Dance and Music, Company Chameleon, Phoenix Dance Theatre, Protein Dance, BlackBox Dance Company (Denmark), Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company and Mark Bruce Dance Company.
