CAT Outreach Workshops - Northern School of Contemporary Dance

CAT OUTREACH WORKSHOPS

for schools, colleges, and youth dance groups

NOW BOOKING

Do you work with enthusiastic and motivated young people aged 13-17 with an interest in dance?

Our free Centre for Advanced Training Outreach workshops give students a taste of our training in contemporary dance technique and choreography. They provide your students the opportunity to work with one of our skilled delivery artists, gain insight in to the NSCD CAT scheme and building confidence through dance.

The workshops can be 1.5 – 2hrs and will be delivered by an NSCD CAT professional dance tutor.

Workshops will consist of the following class structure and provide an insight in to training on the NSCD CAT Scheme:

  • Quick insight in to the scheme/ Warm Up
  • Contemporary Technique Class and learnt phrases
  • Creative Session exploring choreographic devices
  • Peer to peer in class sharing

With the choice of either; hosting an in-person workshop at your school or participating online via a virtual Zoom workshop.

An additional bank of CAT resources and pre-recorded workshop will be sent to the school in advance of the booked workshop.

There are limited workshops available so we encourage interested schools to get in touch as soon as possible to express their interest in hosting a workshop.

Talented students from the workshop are then invited to attend our insights week at NSCD to learn more about the scheme, with a view to potentially attending an audition. No previous dance experience is required.
