Our NSCD+ partnerships aim to nurture young talent in dance. Students receive a strong basic grounding in contemporary technique, develop their creative skills, and learn key performance skills.

Applications to join our programme in partnership with Gateway Studio for September 2023 start are now open.

When: Saturdays, 10am – 4pm

Students completing the programme receive a recognised certificate of completion from NSCD.

Term dates:

  • 16 September – 09 December (12 weeks)
  • 13 January – 23 March (10 weeks)
  • 20 April – 29 June (10 weeks)

Fees: £720 annual fee*

Entry requirements: No formal qualifications are required to gain a place, however some previous dance experience is preferable.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated young people between the ages of 13 and 17 years, who are living in the North East of England and have an interest in pursuing a career in dance.

How to apply: Entry is through successful application. There is no audition for this programme.

About NSCD+

NSCD+ offers young people with talent and potential in dance the opportunity to access training of the highest quality. Delivered in collaboration with partners, the scheme is taught by a team of highly-experienced professional dance teachers and artists. Students undertake an intensive programme of dance training, delivered through extra-curricular, out-of-school-hours sessions.

The NSCD+ Gateway partnership is the first to launch and will help shape the programme as it develops.
