she/her
Fernanda was born in 2001 in North London. Obsessed with the Hollywood musical Singing in the Rain, she woke up one morning, aged 13, and decided to try her hand (or feet) at some tap dancing. Taking classes with people half her age and height, this regretfully only lasted a year. Fernanda discovered contemporary aged 14 and started taking classes at New London Performing Arts Centre, before gaining a place on the CertHE course at NSCD. During her time on the BA at NSCD, Fernanda worked with Gracefool Collective, Keira Martin, Fernanda Prata, Joseph Mercier, Imogen Reeve and Rhiannon Faith.
Fernanda has loved working with all the beautiful friends she has made over the past four years, and is looking forward to one more year studying under the great green dome as part of NSCD’s MA in Interdisciplinary Dance Performance.
"I chose this course because I wanted to develop a deeper understanding of what ‘performance’ means. Throughout IDP, we will be exposed to an incredible variety of guest artists, which I hope will broaden my idea of what my own practice could consist of, and how I might consider approaching performing or creating works. I’m excited!"
