Sandrine Monin

NSCD Summer School Lead Artist (Strand 1 Ages 12-14)

Sandrine Monin is a freelance dance artist and choreographer.

After graduating from the CNSMD Lyon in France, she pursued her training in Germany as part of the European programme D.A.N.C.E. and graduated with a Master in Dance Practice (Palucca Schule Dresden) and with an MA in Choreography (Central School of Ballet).

She has been a professional dancer for over 15 years and worked with internationally renowned companies (Gartnerplatz Theatre, Phoenix Dance Theatre) and choreographers such as William Forsythe, Wayne McGregor, Itzik Galili, and Christopher Bruce

Throughout her career, she has also been developing her own choreographic work, supported by Arts Council England. She has created work for dance and theatre companies, youth groups and the screen.

She shares her practice teaching classes and workshops in companies (New Adventures, Scottish Dance Theatre, NDCWales), and vocational training (Elmhurst Ballet School, Northern Ballet, NSCD).

She is the Artistic Director of Unbound Dance Theatre, an inclusive dance company whose focus is on making dance more accessible for blind and visually impaired people.

Anna Cabré-Verdiell Bosch

NSCD Summer School Lead Artist (Strand 1 Ages 12-14)

Anna is a dancer, creator, and facilitator from El Masnou, a Catalan coastal town on the outskirts of Barcelona.

After completing two courses at the Institut del Teatre professional dance conservatoire, her interest in communication—particularly radio—led her to pursue a journalism degree at Ramón Llull University. She later resumed her dance training, moving to Leeds in 2013 to study at Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD), where she graduated with First-Class Honours.

As a creator, Anna is drawn to collaborative, interdisciplinary, and narrative-led work. She has developed projects with actors, musicians, filmmakers, composers, singers, and community participants, creating pieces that span dance-theatre, musical theatre, film, opera, and immersive performance.

Together with Charlotte Arnold, Anna co-founded ACCA Dance Theatre in 2020 and has served as its artistic director and performer since its inception. Led by two female-identifying creatives, ACCA’s work champions femininity, using character, comedy, and choreography to reflect on contemporary society. In 2024, their show Occupational Hazard toured nationally, earning a four-star review from The Stage at the Edinburgh Fringe. Internationally, ACCA has collaborated with Germany-based company Vier.D since 2021. Together, they have co-created two female-centric works—Femxle Spaces and My Body Is My Castle—and continue to explore ways of navigating post-Brexit limitations for performers.

As an educator, Anna has lectured at Leeds Conservatoire since 2023, teaching on both undergraduate and postgraduate musical theatre courses. She joined NSCD’s faculty in 2024 and has been a core tutor on its CAT Programme since 2022. While based in Leeds, she has also delivered sessions for Northern Ballet Academy, DeNada Dance Theatre, ProDanceLeeds, and The Dance Studio Leeds.

NSCD Summer School Lead Artist (Strand 2 Ages 15-17)

John-William Watson is a choreographer, director and dancer from Beeston, Leeds.

After graduating from The Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp in 2019, they swiftly carved a path for themselves, creating critically acclaimed, surreal, dance-plays – often exploring the interplay between science fiction, dark-comedy and contemporary dance.

Watson has previously received commissions from organisations such as Sadler’s Wells, Messums West and The Riley Theatre. They were a Young Associate Choreographer at Sadler’s Wells 2020-22, Northern Connection Artist 2021/22, and Messums West 4×20 Artist 2023.

In recent years Watson has begun performing in their own work and for UK-based dance artist Beth Emmerson. Their catalyst for performing began with their first solo company work ‘Why This Chair Does Not Exist’ in 2023; which has since toured nationally and internationally.

Outside of their choreographic work, Watson has worked as a mentor for young choreographers, both independently and for One Dance UK’s Young Creatives programme. They are a member of the National Youth Dance Company team, as pastoral support in the company support team and as a facilitator across various projects, most recently within NYDC’s nation wide schools programme.
