This year Northern School of Contemporary Dance turns 40.

Kaleidoscope is a year-long anniversary project celebrating the people, stories and communities that have shaped NSCD and those who will carry it forward.

Rooted in local stories and shaped through co-creation, Kaleidoscope brings together students, alumni, local communities, young people and partners to reflect on our shared heritage and imagine the future together.

What to expect

Over the coming year, Kaleidoscope will unfold through:

Co-created projects with diverse community groups across Chapeltown & Harehills

A major public celebration as part of NSCD’s 40th Anniversary

A commemorative publication capturing NSCD’s founding history and voices

Creative activity, oral histories, storytelling and performances shaped by lived experience
