out there 2024
This event has now ended

Saturday 29th June 2024
11am, 1pm, 3pm

A daytime, family-friendly festival.

Students at Northern School of Contemporary Dance have made a series of performances and films that will pop up in different corners of Chapeltown.

Houses are dream incubators. Students rent rooms and the walls become transparent. Hoarded memories from ancient and unborn tenants buzz loudly in the basement. In a breath, the wind blows the roof off and dance stories spill out onto the pavement. Chapeltown cats mooching along the walls are the first to notice. Will you be the second?

Descend into the animal realm in Out of Elk, a nomadic performance full of tall tales and sideward glances. Turn up the volume on a silent movie and finally find out who dunnit in ‘The Devastating and Tragic Murder of Commissioner Magnus Abbott’ and linger in sweet sadness in an immersive film ‘A love letter to the things we left behind’.
