Call-Out for Freelance Dance Artists & Hourly Paid Lecturers

As part of our expansion as a Higher Education provider, commitment to Equity, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and our continued investment in delivering the highest standards of academic integrity, artistic excellence, and professional practice, NSCD is inviting expressions of interest from freelance dance lecturers and dance artists for the 2026/27 academic year.

We are seeking practitioners who can enrich our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes through their artistic expertise, pedagogical experience, and engagement with contemporary professional practices.

We welcome applications from:
• Dance lecturers with experience teaching in higher education
• Dance artists with significant professional industry experience
• Practitioners who move within and between academic and professional spheres


Areas of Expertise

Our curriculum spans a broad range of movement, creative, and research practices, and we are seeking individuals with expertise particularly in the following areas:
• Somatic practices
• Research practice / practice-research
• Digital technologies and dance
• Dance histories and cultures
• Dance and movement analysis
• Reflective and reflexive practices

Please note this is not a contracted position, but to join our expanding community of freelance practitioners/lecturers. Applicants will be invited for an interview/teaching practice session before being offered any work.
