Background:
James’s dance background prior to CAT was limited. He had some Musical Theatre experience but he had never done a Contemporary dance class.
Progression:
The scheme gave James the training to get on to the Phoenix Youth Academy, a place at London Studio Centre (without having to do a recall) and a place on the Access course at NSCD with the hope of studying his BA Hons Degree there next year. His aspirations are to carry on dancing and hopefully either have a long career dancing for a company or choreographing on emerging artists.
Advice for applicants:
Just audition! The audition is a fun day and if you do get on to the scheme you are bound to meet loads of likeminded people, improve so much physically and mentally and you will be able to say you were part of a scheme that is highly regarded in the dance community as prior training.
