Born and raised in Leeds, Mason began his dance training at the age of 17 upon gaining a place on the Centre for Advanced Training Scheme at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. With limited dance experience prior to this, Mason progressed into full-time vocational training and in 2016, graduated with a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance.
Upon graduating Mason was a part of the Post-graduate performance company, VERVE 17, and was later a Company Dancer in Black Box Dance Company, based in Denmark. During this time, Mason lived abroad and toured contemporary dance works around the UK, Europe and further a field to places such as Greenland and Tanzania.
As well as working with highly acclaimed choreographers, Mason has also been choreographing his own contemporary dance work since 2015, when his DAZL
Male Youth Dance Company debuted their piece “Contaminated” and were selected to represent Yorkshire at regional festival U.Dance 2015.
Mason is so excited to be back working on the Kick Off Boys Youth Project and in his own words says “I can’t wait to get started working on this, as it’s projects like these that have made such a massive impact on my life and all the phenomenal experiences to date!
